Dialectics of Tradition and Modernity—2023 Chuang, Lien-tung Color Ink Creation-Oriented Exhibition｜Taichung City Seaport Art Center

Chuang Lien-Tung, currently a professor of the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University, who has been creating and teaching for over 40 years, is a well-known Chinese ink painting “scholar artist” in the country. Prof. Chuang explores the various aspects of Chinese ink painting continuously and actively, using traditional techniques to interpret modern ideas that focus on “construction of color subjectivity” and “reactivation of traditional symbols”. By assimilating the cultural essence of all ethnicities around the world, Prof. Chuang integrates the expansion of media, the experimentation of techniques and the transformation of aesthetics into an inclusive “Taiwanese colored ink painting”.
